A fictional account of the life and accomplishments of the woman who dedicated herself to the sick during the Crimean War. “Please Help, Miss Nightingale!” tells the story of Florence Nightingale, who in 1854 set sail for Scutari with a band of nurses, determined to help the British soldiers wounded in the Crimean War. When she first arrived, she was not welcomed. By the time she left she was hailed as ‘the soldiers’ friend’.
